Accounting Assistant

Morningside University is looking to hire a full-time Accounting Assistant. This position will assist the Business Office in performing administrative duties, a variety of bookkeeping functions and other clerical services as well as assist with the administration of the phone system.

Responsibilities:

Assist Accounts Payable with processing invoices and serve as the back-up resource
Audit, scan, and file Purchasing Card statements
Generate all P-card transactions and pay P-card balances
Verify cash drawer and open office window
Provide backup coverage and assistance at counter window
Enter purchase orders
Receive incoming phone calls not connected by the auto attendant
Voucher and enter invoices
Responsible for ordering, tracking and maintaining of supplies for the department
Generate reports monthly
Billing departments and processing payments
Assist Accounts Receivable when needed
Assist the Assistant Controller with bank reconciliations, balance sheet account reconciliations and other bookkeeping duties

Qualifications:

Good computer and organizational skills
Strong bookkeeping skills
Customer service oriented
High School Degree
