Job Description
Lead a field survey crew for various projects, including topographic, boundary, construction, and control surveys. Oversee field data collection, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all survey records. Set up, calibrate, and maintain survey equipment, such as GPS receivers, robotic total stations, and data collectors. Conduct quality checks on collected data and provide initial interpretations to assist in boundary determinations and design development. Train and mentor survey crew team members, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety standards. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal survey regulations and company standards. Document and report daily field activities, progress, and any issues or discrepancies encountered in the field.
Responsibilities

Essential Skills
- 5+ years of field surveying experience, with at least 2 years in a crew chief or lead role.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting modern survey equipment (e.g., GPS systems, robotic total stations, and data collectors).
- Strong understanding of surveying techniques, geomatics, and field procedures, including construction staking and topographic surveys.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble (or similar survey software) for data processing and drafting.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal surveying regulations and requirements.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage a field crew and deliver timely, quality results.

Work Environment
Large office space in North Fresno. Team of 6 engineers and 2 project managers and 3 interns. Monday-Friday schedule 8am-5pm. Company events include lunch, BBQ, and suites at Grizzlies games. Opportunity to work on commercial, residential, and wastewater/municipal projects. Work-life balance is prioritized, with flexibility in work hours and no mandatory overtime. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $60.00
