Primary Purpose Of Job And Contribution To Organization
To provide support for senior staff in the survey and mapping department for land surveying tasks required for projects in private land development and public/municipal sectors .
Essential Tasks And Responsibilities
Tasks required for this position include:
Professional Knowledge and experience in applying the concepts, principles and techniques of land surveying, including underlying mathematics and physical science, in combination with practical knowledge of land ownership and general real estate laws.
Excellent analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently.
- Research surveying and mapping records at different municipal agencies
- Prepare survey instructions for field surveys
- Process data collected by field crews
- Generate planimetrics, DTM and contours in CADD for topographic surveys
- Calculate layout and staking coordinates for improvements to be constructed
- Assist with the writing of Legal Descriptions of real property and existing and proposed easements
- Assist with the preparation of deliverables for minor land divisions, lot splits ALTA Land Title Surveys, subdivision final maps or/or other surveys or plats
Responsibilities For This Position Include
- Review schedules and coordinate with field crews to ensure that projects meet deadlines
- Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites
- Review engineering and/or construction plans and drawings and coordinate with engineering groups
Qualifications
Candidate will have A.S. in surveying or civil engineering or equivalent work experience of two years. Candidate must demonstrate familiarity with the basics of boundary principles as well as geometry and trigonometry.
It is preferred for the candidate have a knowledge of surveying computer software applications
such as Autodesk’s Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center.
Position will entail CAD drafting as well as field support duties and requires interface with office and field personnel.
