GeoKinetics is a rapidly growing engineering firm seeking an entry-level (0 to 5 years experience) construction inspector / field technician for our Southern California office.
We are looking for dependable, fast-paced, hard-working individuals to assist our senior staff in providing environmental consulting, environmental engineering design, construction quality assurance, and long-term stewardship services. All tasks will be completed under the responsible charge of a registered professional civil engineer or geologist and for those pursuing their P.E. or P.G., this opportunity presents an opportunity to complete qualifying work and to receive mentorship, training, and letters of recommendation from licensed registered professionals. This is a predominantly field-based position and candidates must have the ability to travel to jobsites around Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego Counties.

Job Responsibilities shall include:
- Observation and documentation of site conditions
- Environmental testing and analysis, with sample submission to various laboratories
- Timely production of detailed field reports and notes
- Serve as communication liaison between customer and Senior staff during site visits and dispatches
- Diagnose and troubleshoot errors/technical issues and propose solutions to senior staff
- Tie workflow to project schedules
- Document processes
- Follow company’s field procedures and protocols
- Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization
Job Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree required. BS in Civil Engineering preferred.
- This is an entry-level position. Prior experience is not required, but preference will be given to applicants with experience associated with construction inspections and/or environmental sampling.
- Ability to intuitively problem solve and make definitive decisions.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products.
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong technical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills and attendance.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Have a positive attitude, be able to work under pressure, and adhere to strict deadlines.
Other:
- Knowledge of Methane/Vapor intrusion mitigation systems a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with construction management, reading and deciphering technical plans required.
- Plumbing and/or electrical experience a plus.
