Role Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Land Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting rural and urban land surveys, preparing survey documents, and ensuring compliance with local regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of surveying techniques and the ability to utilize advanced technology for accurate measurements and data collection. A PLS License is preferred, but not required. Additional responsibilities may include: writing proposals, corresponding with clients and different cities/counties, and hiring and managing employees. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, good time-management skills, work well independently and with others, and be self-motivated. The position has room for immense growth, and ownership/partnership/profit-sharing opportunities exist and would be available for the right candidate.
Duties
- Conduct land surveys using various methods, including traditional surveying instruments and modern technology such as Trimble Robotic Total Stations, Javad GNSS GPS Equipment, and Mavic DJI Drones.
- Prepare detailed survey drawings and reports using CAD software (Civil 3D), ensuring accuracy in all drafted documents.
- Analyze data from surveys to determine property boundaries, topography, and other relevant features.
- Collaborate with civil engineers and other professionals to provide essential information for project planning and development.
- Apply knowledge of geometry and algebra in calculations related to land measurements and boundary determinations.
- Maintain records of survey results and ensure compliance with legal requirements and industry standards.
- Correspondence with regulatory entities/clients and cities/counties.
- Proposal/bid creation.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD software (Civil 3D preferred) for drafting surveys.
- Familiarity with surveying tools and equipment, including total stations, GPS units, and 3D scanners, drones.
- Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of geometry and algebra principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple projects effectively and schedule/time-manage each project to ensure a timely completion.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
- A valid driver's license is required for travel to various job sites.
- Ability to write professional emails and answer client questions.
- Strong work ethic.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
- Management experience is preferred, but not required.
