Director of Children’s Programming and Volunteers | Exodus Ministries
Exodus Ministries is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that works with women coming out of incarceration. We reunite formerly incarcerated single moms with their children and provide an array of services necessary for these women to become responsible, productive, and self-sufficient. Owner/operator of a multi-family apartment complex in downtown Dallas (for transitional housing), Exodus is seeking a Director of Children’s Programming & Volunteers to work with children from infant through 13 years. The director will facilitate learning with fun and exciting programs that help children grow in their Christian faith. The director will also coordinate the volunteer effort required to implement all children’s programming. The ideal candidate will serve the families residing at Exodus throughout their family’s 12-month program, while directing a host of volunteers to love and lead children – and engage their hearts and minds in the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Recruit, train, inspire, and coordinate volunteers for Children’s Ministry (CM) classes and events. Works cooperatively with all staff and volunteers.
● Provides a warm, friendly learning environment for children and families.
● Uses appropriate child development knowledge to best meet the needs of Exodus Ministries children in curriculum selection, child discipline, classroom grouping, etc.
● Communicates the needs of the children’s program to other staff as appropriate. Organizes, sets up, and stocks classrooms with necessary supplies.
● Coordinates sanitation and safety protocols for Children’s Ministry.
● Provide vision and leadership for children’s ministry program
● Work with Children’s Ministry team to provide a biblically sound and vibrant children’s program
● Maintain program growth through promotion, inviting, and personal conversations
● Utilize the spiritual gifts of the volunteers
● Grow and enhance the program as needed
● Perform background checks and educate all adults on protocol when working with children
● Evaluate new curriculum as needed
● Attend monthly Staff meetings
Faith Development/ Fellowship Events:
● Coordinate and direct family nights and the other special events (i.e. Park night, Swim and Fall festivals, etc.)
● Fellowship and maintain rapport with partnering organizations (i.e. Rainbow Days)
● Encourage, develop and coordinate projects
● Direct and plan Holiday activities
Experience and Skills:
● Organizational skills (self-starter, detail-oriented, multi-tasking, and can delegate)
● Ability to use Microsoft Word, create PowerPoint presentations, manage an Excel worksheet, send out monthly newsletter and schedule
● Good inter-personal skills with both children and adults
● High energy, enthusiasm, and creativity

Volunteer
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Recruit and coordinate volunteers and instructors.
● Follow teaching guidelines based on needs of program: finances, spiritual, career, etc.
● Provide orientation for volunteers (individual and group).
● Assist with Mentor program
● Follow up with each volunteer applicant / run background check.
● Enhance and implement volunteer recognition and retention program.
● Maintain volunteer database in Charity Proud (Exodus’ CRM).
● Plan and execute regular volunteer trainings.
● Develop, implement, and maintain tracking systems and/or for both volunteers and residents.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
