About the Role
Colombo Construction is seeking a highly organized and experienced Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations on assigned projects. Under moderate supervision, this role ensures project execution aligns with schedule, safety standards, quality expectations, and budgetary goals. You will serve as the on-site lead, coordinating contractors, managing documentation, and enforcing site safety and environmental protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily field activities, contractor coordination, and adherence to project schedules.
- Maintain site safety compliance and conduct regular inspections.
- Monitor job progress and create detailed daily reports.
- Oversee quality control, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Serve as liaison between field teams, inspectors, and project management.
- Prepare for and participate in contractor and owner meetings.
- Coordinate equipment, material deliveries, temporary services, and dust control.
- Open and close the job site and ensure tools, vehicles, and equipment are properly maintained.
- Support hiring of site crews as needed.
- Act as the Owner’s representative on site to protect the Company’s interests.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); Trade/Technical school (preferred)
- OSHA 30 certification required; EM385, Fall Protection, PlanGrid, Trimble certifications preferred
- 3–5 years of increasing responsibility in construction, including supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of framing, concrete, sequencing, and construction best practices
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, specifications, contracts, and applicable codes
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Procore, and Bluebeam
- Excellent verbal/written communication and leadership skills
- Analytical and strategic decision-making abilities
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Regular walking, standing, lifting (25–50 lbs; occasionally up to 100 lbs), and site mobility
- Working in indoor/outdoor environments with varying temperatures, noise, and potential exposure to dust, fumes, and hazardous conditions
- Frequent use of tools, vehicles, computers, and construction equipment
- Ability to operate in tight spaces, climb ladders, and maintain balance on uneven surfaces
