Duties & Scope
- Perform comprehensive commissioning tests and procedures on Commercial PV solar systems to verify correct installation and operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair issues related to solar panels, inverters, DAS and electrical components.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting during the commissioning phase to address any issues promptly.
- Analyze system performance data to identify potential issues, optimizations and improvements.
- Conduct replacement repairs as required of PV system according to manufacturer specifications.
- Respond to coordinated service calls and address PV commissioning issues promptly and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards.
- Document and report any deviations found during the commissioning process using Microsoft Teams, Procore, Bluebeam and Excel.
- Work closely with engineering and project management teams to provide feedback on system design improvements.
- Assist and lead other Commissioning technicians in troubleshooting and scheduling tasks. As Lead Technician, guide team members and uphold quality standards in service operations and best practices.
- Support testing and commissioning new solar installations, including DAS startup Mechanical and Substantial Completion tasks, Punch list resolution, I-V curve tracing and thermal imaging.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Technical certification or associate degree in a related field (Preferred)
- Familiarity with safety protocols and compliance requirements. (Osha 10/30 certification is a plus)
- NABCEP certification or equivalent (preferred).
- CA certified General Electrician or formal Electrical certification.
- Proven experience in solar PV system testing, start up and troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, solar technology, and industry standards.
- A proactive, strong analytical and problem-solving approach.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly express topics both verbally and written.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings using Egnyte & Procore.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to various project sites.
Work Environment
- This position involves fieldwork at various installation sites primary, as well as some office Job trailer or remote work for documentation and reporting.
- Must be comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Ability to operate scissor lifts, boom lifts and work off ladders as required.
- Ability to travel 25-50% of the time is required

The starting base pay for this role is between USD $80,000.00 and $120,000.00 per year. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: location, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus and benefits.
