Job Summary
The Senior MEP Coordinator is responsible for the complete understanding and implementation of a projects MEP design from thorough review of plans and specifications, including interfaces with Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Fire Alarm and Civil consultants (where applicable). The Senior MEP Coordinators also work closely with Preconstruction Estimators in specifying and validating project-specific scopes of work and assisting with reviews of bid proposals to verify completeness of scopes.
SALARY RANGE: $195,000 - $220,000 annually

Job Responsibilites
- Mentoring of Team Members.
- Assist in developing MEP Training Topics, Knowledge Base & Learning Path Articles.
- Point of contact (liaison) for designated Region to BNB MEP Group.
- Assist Leadership in identifying and allocating MEP resources.
- Identify and communicate any potential design and/or constructability issues and have proposed solutions available.
- Facilitate meeting discussions and track open issues through their complete resolution.
- Assist the Superintendent with the development of MEP installation, startup, testing, commissioning, project logistics, and temporary facility plans.
- Manage MEP Coordination using BIM and facilitate any necessary meetings between subcontractors and design consultants to help resolve issues.
- Provide estimates of MEP systems and MEP scope trades during pre-construction.
- Provide oversight and support to MEP subcontractors throughout the duration of the project (from Groundbreaking through Commissioning and Turnover to Owner).
- Assist with developing detailed CPM (Critical Path Method) schedules for all MEP installation activities, including cost and resource loading.
- Involvement at the earliest phase of the project to offer technical input related to constructability and cost feasibility of various designs.
- Manage MEP design and lead coordination efforts during Preconstruction.
- Identify and communicate any potential design and/or constructability issues and have proposed solutions available.
- Solicit and hire personnel, including subcontractors, to work on the projects MEP elements.
- Act as a liaison between different parties (Owner-Design Consultants-Subcontractors-Inspectors) working on the project.
- Oversee work performed in the field by the MEP subcontractors under their jurisdiction.
- Inspect subcontractors work for quality and ensure that it adheres to the projects specifications.
- Develop and implement the start-up and testing work through turnover of systems.
- Assist Project Superintendent with project logistics and temporary facility plans.
- Assist in development of full commissioning plans for all MEP Systems, working with Commissioning Agent and subcontractors.
- Verifying that all MEPF equipment and materials are consistent with the approved submittals when they arrive on jobsites.
- Ensuring that all MEPF trade work installations follow the schedule and meet all project plans and specifications.
- Maintain contact & communications throughout the assigned tasks to ensure efficient completion.
- Assist with coordinating activities, material procurement, and other related activities with Project Manager and field staff.
- Closely monitor installation to ensure the quality of workmanship meets all code requirements.
- Facilitate any field coordination between MEPF trades and other trades such as drywall/framing and structural steel.
- Work closely with project team members and assist in MEPF submittal, review, and approval process.
- Work with commissioning agents to ensure all required field support by MEP trades are provided.
- Assist with developing detailed schedules for all MEP installation activities, logic review, including cost and resource loading.
- Train project teams on how to review and approve material and equipment for MEP systems.
- Oversee and train project teams on how to monitor the installation and start-up of MEP systems and commissioning of project with Engineer & Owner.
- Represent BNBuilders in regard to the MEP process at meetings when necessary.
- Walk the jobsite daily to coordinate with MEP subcontractors and review the work in place performed by MEP contracts.
- Review plans on site with MEP subcontractors.
- Host jobsite coordination meetings with MEPF subcontractors.
- Work with the Preconstruction Team to:
- Involvement in RFP process; solicit MEP bids, descope, and level MEP bids
- Assist in preparing MEP estimates and;
- Manage estimates from proposal through GMP.
- Work with design teams and preconstruction teams to strategize on conceptual design for MEP systems.
- Assist project teams with MEP change order reviews.
- Assist with warranty and maintenance issues for clients from conception to completion.
- Assist marketing with strategies, challenges/solutions, and write-ups for project pursuits.
Qualifications
- Has a strong grasp of Mechanical and Electrical engineering concepts.
- Ability to run complex meetings with owners, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Knowledge of local professionals and firms.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent education but not required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience directly managing the MEPF, Low Voltage, Fire Alarm, Test and Balance, BMS trades, preferably within BNBs core markets.
- General understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes and Plumbing Codes as they relate to construction projects.
- Has a strong grasp of mechanical, plumbing, and electrical design and construction concepts.
- Ability to manage MEP Design & Coordination using 3D software tools and BIM processes.
- Proficient and efficient in managing all components of construction project tasks relating to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
