Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Fire Sprinkler Designer located in San Diego, CA. The Fire Sprinkler Designer will be responsible for creating detailed fire sprinkler system designs, conducting hydraulic calculations, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal fire codes. The role includes preparing project submittals, coordinating with project managers, and collaborating with installation teams to ensure seamless execution of designs. Regular tasks will also include attending project meetings, performing site visits, and troubleshooting design-related issues over the course of a project.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Fire Sprinkler design, including proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD or Revit
- Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, and experience in hydraulic calculations
- Strong ability to prepare project submittals and coordinate with project managers
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, ability to collaborate with installation teams
- Capability to perform site visits and attend project meetings
- Preferred: NICET certification in Water-Based System Layout, experience in the fire protection industry, and a Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field
