Position Summary
We are seeking two (2) motivated Geomatics or Geospatial Interns to support our geospatial data projects, mapping workflows, and spatial analysis efforts. This role offers hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and technologies, contributing directly to real-world applications in fields such as environmental monitoring, land development, infrastructure, and natural resources.
In this role, you will...
Key Responsibilities - Interns will support:
• Fieldwork assistance, including equipment setup and GPS data collection
• Creation and maintenance of spatial data layers and map products
• Technical documentation and visual outputs to support client deliverables
• Exposure to Trimble and Esri-based technologies, under staff supervision
• Collect, process, and analyze spatial data using GPS, Total Station, or scanning technology
• Assist in creating maps, models, and visualizations to support project teams
• Perform data cleaning, transformation, and integration from various sources (GPS, satellite imagery, LiDAR, CAD, etc.)
• Support field data collection using GNSS devices, UAVs, or mobile apps (optional, if applicable)
• Document methodologies, metadata, and contribute to quality control
• Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, or planners on multidisciplinary projects
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Manager or Team Lead
About you...
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in Geomatics, Geography, Surveying, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
• Experience with GPS, Total Station, and Scanning equipment
• Understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and spatial data types
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently
Bonus points
• Exposure to remote sensing or 3D point cloud processing (e.g., LiDAR)
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar CAD tools
• Interest in drone data processing, GPS surveying, or cartographic design

Candidate Profile Hourly Rate Range
Undergraduate (Year 2–3) - $18 – $22/hour
Senior or Recent Graduate - $22 – $27/hour
Master’s or Advanced Skills - Up to $30/hour
