We are looking for a dedicated Asphalt Paving Crew Member to join our team in the Bay Area.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Adhere to all company PRM safety standards, OSHA requirements and jobsite specific safety standards.
- Maintain awareness of surroundings to avoid accidents and ensure site safety.
- Report any hazards, or safety concerns immediately.
- Assist in the placement and finishing of asphalt using rakes, lutes, and shovels.
- Operate and maintain small tools and equipment such as plate compactors, tampers, and blowers.
- Work closely with the paving machine, roller operators, and other crew members to ensure proper material distribution and compaction.
- Monitor asphalt temperature, texture, and consistency to meet project standards.
- Assist in traffic control and job site setup, ensuring a safe work environment.
- Support the crew in maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Must be able to follow directions from supervisors or key personnel (Including Foreman, Superintendent, Project Managers and Lead Field Personnel) and complete tasks as instructed until further discussion or changes are approved.
- Work efficiently to contribute to the project's timeline and best cost practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience on a paving crew.
- Strong understanding of best paving practices including basic paving techniques, grade and cross-slope, compaction (roller operators), familiarity with Topcon or Trimble Automation (Screed Operators) and/or familiarity with operating CAT or Bomag Pavers (Paver Operators).
- Member of Operating Engineer Local 3 or Laborers Union (preferred but not required).

Additional Requirements
- Required to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
- Available for scheduled shifts, overtime, night work and weekend shifts as needed.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to sit, stand or operate equipment for extended periods, including uneven terrains.
Benefits
Total compensation package commensurate with experience and in accordance with each union’s respective scale. This position is open to non-union and union (Operating Engineers Local 3 or Laborers Union) candidates. If chosen for this position, the candidate will be required to join Operating Engineers Local 3 or Laborers Union. Detailed benefit information will be provided to candidates selected to move forward in the interview process.
