Description of Position:
We are seeking a personable and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and seamless coordination with HR and Finance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to maintaining payroll integrity. Responsibilities:
· Process payroll for all employees on a regular schedule
· Verify timesheets and attendance records for accuracy
· Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions
· Handle direct deposit setups and paper check distributions
· Manage wage garnishments and other adjustments
· Ensure compliance with tax laws and labor regulations
· Process Weekly Payroll Taxes
· Prepare payroll reports for management and audits
· Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues
· Maintain and update payroll records and systems
· Collaborate with HR on new hires, terminations, and compensation changes
· 401K plan administration and weekly contribution uploads
· Provide backup for the weekly union payroll, and monthly union fringe reporting
· Set up, coordinate and report data for certified payroll, OCIP, CCIP, and Wage Equality Programs
Qualifications:
· Payroll Processing Experience (5+ years required)
· Experience with Spectrum (A Trimble/Viewpoint product) preferred
· Associates or Bachelors Degree Preferred
· Strong mathematical and analytical skills
· Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
· Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel
· Knowledge of payroll regulations and tax laws
· Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
· Capacity to work with a team and independently
· Strong logic skills to evaluate problems and troubleshoot issues
· Ability to comprehend complex instructions, policies, and procedures to ensure accurate execution of tasks
· Demonstrates the capacity to stay organized and focused on the tasks at hand
· Critical thinker with strong comprehension, research and analytical skills
Annual Salary Range for this position: $70,000- $90,000 range depending on experience
