JOB TITLE: Construction Foreman/Superintendent

SUMMARY: The Construction Foreman is a field-based position responsible for overseeing all aspects of custom home construction. This position requires daily onsite presence to plan, coordinate, and inspect work, ensuring the highest standards of quality are met with a strong sense of urgency. Acting as the onsite construction expert, the Foreman provides direction to all trades while maintaining close collaboration with project managers, subcontractors, employees, municipalities, inspectors, engineers, architects, consultants, and designers. Success in this role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in ground-up custom home building, and the ability to balance quality craftsmanship with efficient execution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Pre-Construction & Planning
· Review project drawings, specifications, and schedules prior to mobilization.
· Coordinate with project managers to develop site logistics plans.
· Plan, assign, execute, and oversee crew activities, including equipment requirements and material deliveries.
· Participate in pre-construction meetings with clients, project managers, architects, engineers, specialty consultants, and subcontractors.
Project Execution
· Schedule and lead city and county inspections.
· Supervise and direct daily activities of field crews and subcontractors.
· Ensure work is completed according to schedule, and project specifications.
· Maintain job site organization, cleanliness, and efficiency.
· Monitor productivity and adjust manpower or workflow as needed.
· Conduct multiple daily walk-throughs of the entire job site, engaging directly with each crew. This is a field-based role, not a construction trailer position.
Quality, Safety & Close-Out
· Inspect all work multiple times a day to ensure compliance with design specifications and craftsmanship standards.
· Enforce safety protocols, conduct regular safety inspections and tailgate safety meetings.
· Manage punch lists and ensure all deficiencies are corrected before project completion.
· Oversee site closeout, final inspections, and turnover documentation.
Team Collaboration & Reporting
· Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for employees, subcontractors, project managers, architects, engineers, and designers.
· Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding progress, challenges and solutions.
· Prepare and submit daily logs, time sheets, and incident reports.
· Train and mentor crew members, fostering professional development.
· Patiently yet persistently advocate for the information needed to build the home efficiently, avoiding delays or duplicated work.

· Strong leadership skills with proven ability to supervise and motivate crews.
· Requires stamina and dedication to see multi-year projects (3-5 years) through to completion, maintaining focus and energy throughout.
· Knowledge of all trades and construction techniques needed to build a residence from the ground up.
· Knowledge of residential building codes.
· Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on finding solutions, not just identifying problems.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
· A strong sense of urgency, recognizing that our clients expect both speed and quality.
Education and Experience
· High school diploma or GED required, vocational or technical training preferred.
· Must have ground up custom residential experience at a supervisory level.
· OSHA certification or equivalent safety training strongly preferred.
Technical Skills
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
· Familiarity with scheduling software, digital reporting, and mobile construction apps.
· Proficiency in operating construction tools and equipment.
· Basic email composition and computer skills.
· Dropbox experience preferred.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
- Clear verbal and written communication with clients, crews, and subcontractors.
- Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build positive working relationships across diverse teams.
- Spanish speaking as a second language preferred.
Mathematical Skills
· Ability to perform basic calculations related to measurements, layout, and material quantities.
· Knowledge of geometry and algebra as applied to construction tasks.
· Proficient in applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
· Proficient performing quantity takeoffs, material estimates, and cost comparisons.
· Skilled in reading and interpreting construction schedules, timelines and critical path dependencies.

· Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
· Vision abilities include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
