This role offers the opportunity to lead a
high-profile project in Santa Barbara, CA estimated at approximately $60M....a rare opportunity in a market largely dominated by government work. This
multi-level, concrete-structure development is a
high-end, marquee project that will span
two years and showcase exceptional design and construction standards. It's a

About the Role:
As Senior Superintendent, you'll lead the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale, complex construction projects. Working closely with the Project Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of delivery, from jobsite safety and quality control to scheduling and subcontractor management, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
You'll serve as the key field leader and primary liaison with architects and consultants on constructability issues, while mentoring and directing project teams. This is a high-impact role for a proven leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes pride in delivering exceptional projects.
Job Duties:
- You will lead and manage Field and Project teams to ensure seamless collaboration, operational efficiency, and successful delivery of large, complex projects
- You will champion jobsite safety and quality standards, proactively enforcing ECG's safety culture, creating site-specific emergency action plans, and conducting daily safety audits
- You will oversee project planning and execution from pre-construction to closeout, including set-up, logistics, scheduling, and field coordination to maintain project momentum
- You will mentor and develop field teams (Assistant Superintendent, Project Engineers, and Assistant PMs), ensuring alignment with company standards and operational excellence alongside the Project Manager
- You will establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, inspectors, unions, agencies, and adjacent communities to support project success
- You will supervise and coordinate subcontractors while holding all parties accountable for performance, quality, and schedule
- You will conduct and/or attend Foreman meetings, pre-task meetings, safety meetings and project staff meetings
- You will leverage technology (Procore, BIM, Trimble Connect) to streamline project coordination, train team members, and enhance efficiency across all modules (RFIs, Submittals, Schedules, Daily Logs, Change Events, Punch Lists)
- You will prepare and maintain accurate schedules and records (3-week lookahead, Gantt charts, RFIs, ASIs, as-builts, daily logs) including manpower, equipment, and deliveries
- You will manage project costs and changes (PCOs and CCOs) from pricing through final commitment, negotiating to protect company interests
- You will collaborate on pre-construction planning and value engineering, identifying risks and providing solutions before they impact the budget or schedule
- You will coordinate inspections and compliance with building departments, subcontractor inspections, and other agencies to ensure smooth progress
- You will represent ECG professionally while maintaining confidentiality on financial and strategic matters
- Other related duties will be assigned or as needed
Requirements
Professional Skills:
- 8+ years of field supervision and 10+ years of construction experience managing large and complex construction projects (DSA/public works strongly preferred) with total annual billings of $25M+
- Strong technical expertise in construction management, project management, estimating, and site supervision. Able to independently manage a project from groundbreaking through commissioning and punch list
- Proficiency in Procore (advanced user and trainer), BIM software, Trimble Connect, and other project management tools
- Skilled in creating and updating Gantt chart schedules, tracking submittals, and managing change orders (PCOs/CCOs)
- Familiar with pre-construction planning and value engineering activities
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy

Physical Requirements:
Performance of the required duties may require the following:
- Physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk, hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock

A typical hiring range for this position is $160,000 - $200,000 USD per year with the final offer based on your qualifications, job-related skills, and relevant experience.
