Position Summary
At Haggerty Construction, our Metal Framer/Drywall Hanger is a construction professional responsible for erecting interior and exterior walls and other structures using metal studs and then installing drywall panels, while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment. This role requires reliability, flexibility, and a commitment to quality and safety in all that you do.
Job Objectives
- Perform assigned labor tasks efficiently and with high-quality workmanship.
- Ensure a safe, organized, efficient and clean worksite always.
- Uphold HCI’s safety and quality standards at all job sites.
- Represent Haggerty Construction professionally when interacting with coworkers, subcontractors, and clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Metal Framing – Measuring, cutting and installing metal studs to create walls, ceilings, and soffits, ensuring plumb and square construction.
- Drywall Installation – Hanging drywall panels onto the metal framing and securing them with screws.
- Blueprint Reading – Accurately interpreting blueprints and building codes to ensure proper construction.
- Tool Proficiency – Experience with various hand and power tools, including drills, saws, and laser levels.
- Attention to Detail – Precision is crucial for structural integrity and a professional finish.
- Provide courteous and solution-based support.
- Secure and track HCI-owned tools, equipment, and materials.
- Identify and report site hazards.
- Participate in regular safety meetings and implement HCI safety practices daily.
- Submit timely and accurate reports, including hazard assessments and incident reports when required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 4 year experience in the construction industry
- Familiarity with construction tools and materials
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and professional appearance
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Basic communication skills and ability to use a smartphone to take photos, check schedules, and communicate

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs regularly
- Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for long periods
- Exposure to outdoor elements, noise, dust, and standard job site conditions
- Ability to safely use ladders and handle construction equipment
- Must be able to travel between project sites throughout the region
