REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY:
- VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE WITH CLEAN DRIVING RECORD FOR AT LEAST 3 YEARS.
- FLEXIBLE AVAILABILITY (OPEN TO OVERTIME AND/OR DOUBLETIME).
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening requirement.
This is an entry-level position to become one of our Traffic Control Technicians/Flaggers. Since your work will be outside, you will be exposed to the weather elements.
Main Responsibilities:
- Transporting of goods, materials, and/or equipment for various customers in a safe and timely manner.
- Completing Temporary Traffic Control set-ups, take-downs, maintenance, and flagging to ensure safe work zones for our customers and road users.
- Must have three (3) years driving experience and a clean driving record (we will run a check with our Insurance broker to make sure your record is clean).
Tasks and Duties:
- Check with dispatch to pick up your dispatch sheet, plans, your route, and gather materials to meet your job schedule (including loading up your truck with the materials needed).
- Perform traffic control and flagging activities as needed and follow safety rules and regulations on all work zones and flagging sites, including: placing signs, barricades, traffic cones and other warning devices, and safely controlling vehicular, pedestrian and construction traffic movements in a work area. Your duties will vary according to job assignment.
- Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure the job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
- Provide directions and safety instructions (you must be able to communicate effectively; verbal communication skills are critical). Familiarity with non-verbal communication methods such as hand signals, signs, and proper radio communication are equally important.
- Constantly observe and be aware of the environment around you. Be cognizant of potential hazards and minimize risks.
- Able to work with little to no direction from your immediate supervisor.
- Load and unload trucks, and haul and lift materials.
- Properly perform preventative maintenance checklist by inspecting truck and trailer for any mechanical and safety issues; this includes checking all fluid levels, tire treads and pressure.
- Keep truck clean and in good operating condition; this includes removing trash and cleaning the interior at the end of each day.
- Accurately document all time worked, miles driven, and meal breaks at the end of each day. Ensure to retain and turn in all fuel receipts.
- Ensure daily and weekly pre and/or post checklists are completed properly and on time.
- Follow and comply with all state and federal traffic laws and regulations.
- All Safety Network drivers must possess a current CA Driver’s License while maintaining a clean driving record.

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
