At SHN, we come to work to make a difference. SHN’s footprint covers some of the most beautiful coastal, forest, and valley environments in the world: the coastal communities of northern California and Southern Oregon. Since 1979, we have been making a difference by investigating and restoring sites affected by human-caused impacts. No project is the same, and our work challenges us every day to apply our expertise and ensure that clean water, soil, and air are available to all people and other living things.
What’s the role? SHN is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic mid-level Professional Engineer (PE) with geotechnical experience to be a part of a growing team of geologists and engineers to serve clients in northern California and southern Oregon. The right candidate will enjoy working on a wide variety of projects in a geologically dynamic region. SHN is community-focused and serves clients ranging from homeowners to municipal and governmental agencies. Our projects are equally as diverse in their level of complexity and technical challenge, and the PE will benefit from collaborating with knowledgeable senior staff and motivated engineers and geologists early in their careers. The PE will be provided with the opportunity to lead and/or collaborate on developing proposals and overseeing all stages of a geotechnical project including field and laboratory testing, data analysis, reporting and construction. The PE will also benefit from working closely with materials testing technicians and special inspectors that support three fully accredited materials testing laboratories, located in Eureka and Willits, CA, and in Coos Bay, OR. Culture is important at SHN, and the right candidate will demonstrate SHN’s mission, vision, and values in everyday language and interactions with co-workers and our client/vendors.
