The Sr. Business Analyst (BA) will be responsible for leading the analysis, design, and delivery of business and information system solutions within the SAP Finance landscape. In this role, the Sr. BA will serve as a functional and solution leader for SAP FI/CO and related Finance systems, collaborating with global business and IT teams to own and govern the SAP environment. The Sr. BA will lead the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of Simpson Strong-Tie’s corporate SAP ERP system with a focus on Finance. This position is accountable for ensuring solutions are designed using enterprise-grade, scalable, and best-practice SAP standards. The ideal candidate is a senior-level SAP FI/CO functional expert and hands-on configurator with broad SAP knowledge, strong architectural understanding, and experience delivering solutions in a global manufacturing environment.
This role requires end-to-end ownership of functional design and delivery, including leadership over configuration decisions, vendor deliverables, and cross-functional initiatives. The Sr. Business Analyst will also have project and workstream leadership responsibilities and is expected to work independently with minimal direction. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively influence and manage relationships with senior business partners, IT leadership, and external vendors. This position is a member of the Global IT Applications team reporting to the Director, ERP & Finance Applications.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Configure and Lead SAP Finance Solutions (40%)
Lead and own the configuration, optimization, and governance of SAP Financial Accounting and Controlling modules including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, fixed assets, new general ledger, cost elements, cost center accounting, internal orders, product costing, profitability analysis, and profit center accounting. Apply deep accounting and SAP FI/CO expertise to ensure end-to-end, integrated business processes. Champion SAP best practices and standards while delivering solutions that align with Simpson’s global business objectives.
Solution Design, Delivery, and Project Leadership (30%)
Lead business requirements discovery and translate complex business needs into enterprise-ready SAP solution designs. Own functional design decisions and guide system enhancements and modifications across SAP and integrated applications. Resolve complex business and system issues through collaboration with cross-functional internal teams and external partners. Lead functional design for upgrades and enhancements, including testing strategy, test execution, validation, and documentation. Develop and oversee end-user training materials as needed. Lead or manage medium-sized projects or workstreams with minimal oversight, including planning, execution, timeline management, and functional delivery.
Vendor and Partner Oversight (15%)
Provide functional and delivery oversight for external partners and vendors. Establish and enforce design standards and ensure consistency across global SAP processes and enhancements. Review, validate, and hold partners accountable for solution quality, documentation, and adherence to Simpson’s internal standards. Maintain accountability for solutions delivered.
Strategy, Architecture, and Data Governance (15%)
Contribute to the overall IT Systems and Applications strategy with a focus on SAP Finance capabilities. Support and influence long-term SAP roadmap decisions including platform evolution. Serve as a key contributor to Data Governance initiatives, ensuring finance-related data standards, controls, and objectives are met.
Desired Skills And Experience

- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related discipline, required
- SAP Certification in FI and/or CO modules, preferred
- 7+ years of SAP FI/CO experience with hands-on configuration and solution ownership required
- 7+ years of experience delivering SAP solutions in complex ECC and/or S/4HANA landscapes required
- 5+ years of experience translating complex business requirements into enterprise SAP solution designs required
- 5+ years of experience supporting or leading global finance processes in a corporate or manufacturing environment required
- Experience leading or significantly contributing to multiple full lifecycle SAP implementations
- Experience with OneSource Tax and complex tax integrations, preferred
Technical Expertise:
Deep SAP FI/CO configuration expertise with strong knowledge of SAP finance architecture and integration patterns. Experience designing scalable, enterprise-grade SAP solutions. Knowledge of SAP landscape design, implementation methodologies, and governance models. Experience with global and domestic implementations. SAP S/4HANA Finance experience strongly preferred.
Leadership:
Demonstrated ability to work independently as a senior-level contributor and functional leader. Proven ability to influence stakeholders, challenge design decisions when necessary, and drive alignment across business and IT. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with senior leadership.
Project Management:
Demonstrated success leading projects or SAP workstreams within a structured SDLC. Ability to manage scope, timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations across multiple concurrent initiatives. Experience partnering with business leaders to evaluate, recommend, and implement mission-critical solutions.
Collaboration:
Regularly interacts with senior members of the IT team, Finance leadership, business SMEs, and end users. Works closely with third-party vendors, systems integrators, and industry peers.

PAY
$93,400 – $190,600 / year
