You want to be an important member of a strong team of other makers who take pride in their work and support each other. As a Drafter, you will be responsible for operating drafting software (Autodesk Inventor, Revit, SketchUp, …) to create 2D drawings and 3D models for Simpson Strong-Tie products and their applications in certain projects.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Produce accurate and timely 2D technical drawings (mechanical/civil) and 3D models or conceptual layouts using required drafting software such as Autodesk Inventor, Revit, SketchUp, etc., based on requests from engineers in the US, Europe, and Canada.
- Adhere to the company quality system requirements to ensure accuracy, code compliance, and consistency of deliverables.
- Communicate effectively with clients via. email to clarify the request requirement, timelines, progress update….
- Collaborate closely with peers to deliver high‑quality outputs that meet requestor expectations in a professional manner.
- Engage in continuous learning to enhance work capability, performance, and support team objectives.
- Update and report daily work progress to your direct supervisor.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
If you can do everything listed above, you’ve got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Architecture, Technical Drafting, Mechanical Engineering.
- Open to freshers and entry‑level candidates. Candidates with 1+ years of experience in mechanical or civil drafting will be considered a strong asset.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical drawings with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to use drafting software, preferably AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Autodesk Inventor, or other related tools.
- English proficiency equivalent to TOEIC 550 or higher; able to comprehend technical documents in English.
- Self‑motivated and capable of working independently, while also being a strong team player who collaborates effectively.
- Creative, proactive, responsible, and committed to delivering high‑quality work.
- Carefulness and flexible working ability are extremely essential.
