We’re looking for an experienced
Senior Buyer to play a pivotal role in delivering a major infrastructure programme as part of the LTC Project. This is a high‑impact role for a procurement professional who thrives on complexity, collaboration and driving real value through the supply chain.
Working as part of a forward‑thinking Procurement Function, you’ll lead early engagement activity, manage complex tenders, influence key commercial decisions and help shape a resilient, high‑performing supply chain that supports long‑term project success.
What you'll be doing
As Senior Buyer, you’ll take ownership of procurement activity for complex work packages, ensuring everything is delivered in line with the LTC Procurement Strategy, main contract requirements and internal governance.
You’ll Be Trusted To
- Lead end‑to‑end procurement for complex packages, from market analysis through to contract award
- Develop and issue high‑quality ITTs, RFPs and RFQs
- Analyse supplier submissions using both quantitative and qualitative methods
- Assess value using MEAT and Social Value evaluation techniques
- Carry out supplier due diligence, commercial checks and performance reviews
- Lead negotiations and make robust, well‑evidenced recommendations to the Procurement Manager and project team
- Finalise negotiations and support contract and order placement in line with governance requirements
- Provide clear, insightful reporting on procurement progress, risks and supplier performance
You’ll also play a key role in shaping the future of the supply chain by monitoring market trends, identifying new suppliers and building strong, collaborative supplier relationships.
Who we're looking for
- Subcontract Experience
- Significant experience delivering complex procurement within a construction or infrastructure environment
- A proven track record of supplier management, negotiation and governance compliance
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent analytical and decision‑making skills
- A pragmatic but disciplined approach to procurement processes
- Confident stakeholder manager and collaborative team player
- Customer‑focused, proactive and solutions‑driven
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Experience using procurement ERP and e‑tendering systems (e.g. Oracle, Jaggaer or similar)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Solid supply chain management experience
