IT Systems Lead
Location: Charlottesville, VA (On-Site Position)

S.L. Williamson Company, Inc. (SLWCO) is a third-generation family-owned heavy highway asphalt paving company with a strong, collaborative leadership team. We operate three asphalt plants and support multiple paving and grading crews, as well as a fleet of trucks. We are partnered with RoadStone Production LLC (RSP), a manufacturer of eco-friendly asphalt patch material with a production plant in Orange and a national sales team. Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and adaptable individual to serve as the primary point of contact for all IT-related matters in our company. You will work alongside our remote MSP (Managed Service Provider) and the Company’s leadership team to manage hardware, software, phones, tablets, cameras, and other IT systems. Strong communication skills and discretion with confidential information are essential. In collaboration with our third-party IT consultant, you will oversee the daily IT operations and support for our office and field teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support network operations, including troubleshooting and managing core network issues (switching, routing, Wi-Fi access points) across multiple locations.
- Assist with network management in coordination with third-party IT vendors (Cisco Meraki, Microsoft Azure).
- Assist with managing ERP security, administration, reporting, and integrations using Trimble’s Viewpoint Vista ERP and MS SQL database.
- Manage and provision IT inventory, purchase hardware when needed, and coordinate repairs for computers, accessories, and phones.
- Provide frontline technical support to resolve software and hardware issues for both technical and non-technical users both virtually and in-person across support tiers 1, 2, and 3.
- Administration and support for MacOS and Windows systems, including troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Set up and configure workstations, train new users, and manage user access to company software.
- Create and maintain IT documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Experience providing second- or third-tier IT technical support, ideally with coordination of outsourced MSPs.
- Basic proficiency with data extraction via the use of SQL.
- A strong track record of learning new technologies and solving complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Highly organized with clear documentation practices for repeatability.
- Self-starter capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Bonus Qualifications:
- CCNA, CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certifications.
- Microsoft Azure certifications.
- Experience with Crystal Reports, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and/or Power BI.
- Experience with Trimble’s Viewpoint Vista ERP.
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary range: $95,000 to $105,000.

Additional Information:
This is a full-time, on-site position located at our headquarters in Charlottesville, VA. The role will involve occasional travel to remote sites, all within an hour of the main office. S.L.
