Brief Description
We are seeking experienced
Rental Technicians with a strong electrical background to ensure our rental equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for deployment at all times. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of electrical rental equipment, including preparation, inspection, maintenance, repair, and return processing.
Rental Technicians play a critical role in supporting customer projects by configuring equipment to meet specific requirements, performing quality assurance testing, and troubleshooting issues across a wide range of commercial and industrial electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and configure rental equipment to meet customer project specifications
- Perform inspections, testing, and detailed reporting for rental and sale equipment
- Conduct preventative maintenance and minor repairs
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in equipment
- Operate a forklift to move, stage, and load/unload equipment safely
- Support shipping and receiving activities for rental and sales inventory
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional warehouse, yard, and shop environment
- Respond to occasional after-hours service calls as needed
Equipment You’ll Work With
- Automatic and manual transfer switches
- Distribution panels and power distribution equipment
- Dry-type, padmount, and substation transformers
- Electrical cables across various voltages and amperage levels
- Motor starters, breakers, splitters, and related components
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a qualified electrician (Journeyman or equivalent preferred)
- Experience in commercial and industrial electrical construction, maintenance, and commissioning across high- and low-voltage systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and correct electrical faults
- Comfortable working with heavy equipment (lifting 100+ lbs.), at heights, and in confined spaces
- Willingness to work outside regular hours for emergency or after-hours support
Additional Skills & Requirements
- Forklift operator certification preferred (or willingness to obtain certification)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Pride in maintaining equipment quality and workplace organization
