Role Description This is a full-time Electrician role in a hybrid work arrangement based in Vista, CA, with some work-from-home tasks such as documentation, planning, and virtual meetings. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment on commercial construction projects, following drawings, codes, and specifications. The Electrician will perform electrical troubleshooting, identify and resolve issues, and ensure safe and compliant installations. The role involves collaborating with project managers, field supervisors, and other trades, completing work orders, maintaining accurate records, and supporting preconstruction activities as needed. The Electrician is expected to follow all safety protocols, participate in toolbox talks and training, and contribute to a professional, team-oriented jobsite culture.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational knowledge of electricity and electrical principles, with the ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and specifications.
- Hands-on experience with electrical work in commercial settings, including installation of wiring, panels, fixtures, and related components.
- Proficiency in maintenance & repair of electrical systems, including scheduled service, equipment upgrades, and replacement of faulty components.
- Effective troubleshooting skills to diagnose electrical issues, identify root causes, and implement safe, timely solutions.
- Background in electrical engineering concepts or vocational/technical training that supports planning, load calculations, and system design review.
- Valid electrician license or certification as required by California regulations; OSHA safety training and familiarity with NEC and local codes.
- Ability to work safely in a construction environment, use tools and test equipment properly, and follow company and site safety procedures.
- Reliable communication skills, ability to work in a team, and commitment to integrity, quality workmanship, and meeting project deadlines.
- Experience in commercial construction is preferred; possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites is beneficial.
