Job Summary
Casper Company is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Hazardous Materials Laborer to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will support hazardous materials abatement, environmental cleanup, emergency response, and restoration projects at a variety of job sites.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in doing the job correctly, and values teamwork and safety. You will work alongside experienced professionals while gaining valuable skills and opportunities for long-term career growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the safe removal, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials, including asbestos, mold, lead, and other contaminants.
- Properly use personal protective equipment, respiratory protection, tools, and safety equipment.
- Support water damage, flood, fire, and mold remediation projects through cleaning, debris removal, demolition, and surface preparation.
- Operate company vehicles, hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment safely and responsibly.
- Follow all OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and job-specific procedures.
- Assist with construction, demolition, containment, restoration, and site preparation activities as needed.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Participate in emergency response and on-call assignments when required.
- Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and other project partners.
- Complete required job documentation accurately and promptly.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience in hazardous materials abatement, restoration, demolition, construction, or a related industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of asbestos, mold, lead, respiratory protection, PPE, and hazardous materials safety procedures is highly desirable.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Professional communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in physically demanding and sometimes challenging job site conditions.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules, including occasional nights, weekends, or emergency response assignments.
- Experience with Xactimate or similar software is a plus but is not required.
