Role Description:
The Construction Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Pittsboro, NC. This position is responsible for preparing detailed estimates for different size renovations, including quantity take-offs, labor and material costs, and project budgets. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing architectural and engineering drawings, soliciting and analyzing subcontractor and supplier quotes, and updating cost databases as pricing and market conditions change. The Estimator will collaborate with project managers, designers, and leadership to develop accurate proposals, support value engineering, and monitor costs against budgets throughout the project lifecycle. The role also involves purchasing materials needed within the estimate provided.
Qualifications:
- Strong construction estimating skills, including experience with residential renovations.
- Proficiency in quantity take-offs and the ability to interpret architectural and engineering plans and specifications.
- Cost management and budgeting skills, including tracking costs, analyzing variances, and supporting value engineering.
- Effective communication skills for working with clients, internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Experience with estimating or construction management software and strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of local building codes, construction methods, materials, and trade practices.
- Ability to work on-site in Pittsboro, NC, manage multiple estimates simultaneously, and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
- Ability to order materials and work closely with the internal team regarding client selections.
- Preferred: Prior experience in custom residential construction; relevant education in construction management, engineering, or a related field; and a valid driver’s license for local site and vendor visits.
