Civil Construction Estimator – Full Time

Wild Building is seeking a Full-Time Civil Construction Estimator to join our team in Mount Juliet, Tennessee.
We specialize in civil commercial development and site construction, including site development, mass grading, earthwork, underground utilities, storm drainage, concrete, paving, and related civil infrastructure.
What You’ll Do
• Review civil construction drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for commercial site development projects
• Estimate labor, materials, equipment, production, and subcontractor costs
• Develop estimates for earthwork, mass grading, utilities, storm drainage, erosion control, concrete, paving, and related civil scopes
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, constructability concerns, project risks, and potential cost impacts
• Prepare detailed estimates, bid proposals, and project budgets
• Assist with bid submissions and preconstruction planning
• Work with project managers and field supervisors to verify production rates, equipment needs, sequencing, and constructability assumptions
• Participate in value engineering and cost-saving evaluations
• Maintain current pricing and historical project cost information
• Assist with project handoff from estimating to project management following award
• Manage multiple estimates and bid deadlines
Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet at least one of the following:
Education:
Four-year Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or a related field
OR
Experience:
Minimum of four years of civil construction experience, preferably involving commercial site development, earthwork, mass grading, underground utilities, storm drainage, concrete, or paving
Additional Qualifications
• Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and specifications
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of civil construction means, methods, materials, equipment, and sequencing
• Ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs
• Proficiency with estimating/takeoff software, spreadsheets, and general computer applications
• Understanding of labor, material, equipment, production, and subcontractor costs
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines
• Commitment to safety, accountability, and professional integrity
Preferred Experience
Experience as a Civil Estimator, Project Estimator, Project Engineer, or Civil Project Manager is preferred. Experience with commercial site development, mass grading, underground utilities, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, water systems, erosion control, concrete, paving, and production-based estimating is also preferred.
