Role Description The Civil Inspector is a full-time, on-site role based in Cameron, LA. This position is responsible for performing daily site inspections to verify that civil and concrete construction activities comply with project specifications, codes, and safety standards. The Civil Inspector documents inspection findings, prepares reports, and communicates issues and recommendations to project management and field teams. The role involves monitoring quality control processes, observing asphalt and other civil works, and verifying materials and workmanship throughout project phases. The Civil Inspector collaborates with construction managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve deficiencies, support continuous improvement, and help ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the required quality.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Site Inspections and Inspection to assess compliance with project plans, standards, and regulations.
- Candidates should possess skills in Quality Control and Construction Management to monitor workmanship, coordinate with project teams, and support effective project execution.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Asphalt and related civil construction materials and methods to evaluate installation quality and performance.
- Relevant skills in reading and interpreting drawings and specifications, applying construction codes and standards, and preparing clear inspection reports.
- Experience in civil, concrete, or heavy construction environments, preferably with field inspection or quality assurance responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work safely and effectively on active construction sites.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with site crews, supervisors, engineers, and clients.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or an associate degree in construction, civil engineering technology, or a related field is beneficial.
- Relevant certifications in construction inspection, quality control, or safety (such as OSHA training) are an advantage.
