We are seeking a Smart Metering / AMI Solution Architect to lead solution architecture and technical strategy for large-scale utility smart metering and grid modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep domain expertise across AMI, Smart Meters, MDM/MDMS, HES and Meter-to-Cash, combined with strong experience designing and integrating complex utility technology ecosystems.
Mandatory Skills
- 10+ years of experience in Utility / Energy / Smart Metering / AMI
- Strong experience with AMI/AMR, Smart Metering, Meter Data Management (MDM/MDMS) and Head-End Systems (HES)
- Hands-on architecture experience with Itron MDM / Itron AMI Fixed Network / HES
- Strong knowledge of Smart Meter-to-Cash processes and utility billing environments
- Experience integrating AMI/MDM with Oracle CC&B, GIS, OMS and other utility systems
- Proven experience in Solution Architecture, system integration, technical design and architecture governance
- Experience working with utility clients, system integrators, technology vendors and cross-functional teams
- Strong understanding of Grid Modernization and AMI transformation programs
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead end-to-end Smart Metering and AMI solution architecture.
- Develop architecture across Smart Meters, AMI Networks, HES, MDM/MDMS, CIS/Billing and downstream utility systems.
- Lead solution design and integration for AMI/MDM platforms and utility applications.
- Evaluate technology solutions, define technical approaches and develop architecture roadmaps.
- Drive integration between AMI/MDM, Oracle CC&B, GIS, OMS, analytics and workforce systems.
- Provide technical leadership for AMI modernization, MDM upgrades and Grid Modernization initiatives.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to translate utility requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Establish architecture standards, technical documentation, integration patterns and governance processes.
- Lead technical discussions with clients, vendors, system integrators and development teams.
- Identify technical risks, integration gaps and performance issues and drive resolution.
- Support implementation teams through architecture, design, testing and production deployment.
- Provide technical advisory and domain leadership for Smart Metering and AMI transformation programs.
