We are currently recruiting for a Preconstruction Industrial Engineer to join our Modesto, CA team!
Supports manufacturing and procurement activities through the tracking, recording, analysis, and reporting of operational productivity and cost data. Utilizes this data to support the development of operational strategies that is linked with accurate and well-documented project statistics. Works in close coordination with the project team leadership, and the project scheduler/controller operations and procurement are synchronized with the current project actual cost and schedule
Responsibilities
- Create Manufacturing budgets for assigned projects and for internal and third party vendor partnerships as a cross comparison to ensure competitive numbers.
- Perform KPIs for manufacturing, trade partners weekly, and communicate results to managers for results based discussions for improvement. KPIs to be comprehensive and overview schedule, budget, quality and safety.
- Provide bi monthly cost to complete for manufacturing and trade partners based on production and procurement actual cost and progress. Align cost and schedule with project scheduling and cost controlling. Coordinate and provide input on cost/resource loaded scheduling.
- Generate Purchase orders for defined commodities and reconcile invoicing with project budget.
- Optimize procurement by analyzing individual orders against project requirements to minimize MOQ surcharges and maximize economies of scale.
- Cross training to support production and procurement requirements within SAP and scheduling to ensure project requirements are satisfied. Including support of monthly billing process.
- Providing recommendations for improvement based on productivity metrics and trends
- Articulate to Project leaders with confidence in a deliberate manner in weekly check in’s and appropriate meetings.
- Creation of Purchase orders within SAP
- Alert project team to deviation of schedule and budget against baseline
Basic Requirements
Knowledge and/or Technical skills
Required
Knowledge – Minimum required knowledge, certification and accreditations
Technical Skills – Minimum required skills to apply knowledge (skills levels: Novice, Beginner, Competent, Proficient, Expert)
- 5-7 years of experience in curtain wall manufacturing
- Bachelor’s degree in production management, industrial engineering, and/or business management
- Confidence in conveying information to project leaders in an articulate manner (Competent)
- SAP Role and transactions to support procurement(Proficient)
- PIM(Novice)
- TSR (Expert)
- Willingness to travel to visit production facilities, design offices, project jobsites, and vendor facilities
- Overtime work as required
