GIS Coordinator - Sustainable Range Program
Job Overview:
We are seeking a GIS Coordinator to support Fort Irwin’s Sustainable Range Program (SRP) in California. You will be responsible for creating, analyzing, and managing geospatial data for range modernization and training programs. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $67,000 to $73,000, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage GIS data for military and civilian projects.
- Create maps, reports, and analyses to support range operations and land management.
- Collect and manage field data using GPS tools.
- Ensure data meets quality standards and produce regular progress reports.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate GIS-related information effectively.
- Support the creation and distribution of geospatial data, maps, and services.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, or related field (Required).
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years working with GIS in a professional setting.
- Experience creating and updating digital data layers, maps, and reports.
- Familiarity with GIS software (ESRI ArcGIS 10.6.1 and ArcGIS Pro).
- Experience with GPS data collection and field mapping procedures.
- Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to work independently.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with the US Army Sustainable Range Program.
- Experience using SDSFIE and FGDC metadata schema.
- Certifications: ArcGIS Desktop Associate, GISP.
- Field experience using Trimble GPS hardware and software.
