SUMMARY: The Business Systems Analyst is pivotal in optimizing business operations and processes with technology. This role requires planning, development, and implementation of efficient business financial and operational systems. It requires a collaborative approach working closely with various departments, IT peers, and external partners to ensure alignment of IT solutions with business objectives. The Analyst plays a crucial role in analysis, requirements gathering, and documentation to enhance software investments and system integrations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Planning and Collaboration:
- Engage with key stakeholders to identify and evaluate opportunities for system enhancements and optimizations.
- Gather functional and technical requirements through interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize these insights.
- Evaluate and refine the requirements-gathering process, enhancing its effectiveness and efficiency.
- Foster strong relationships with IT vendors and service providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
Process Improvement
- Drive process enhancement by documenting existing and future workflows, collaborating with stakeholders to address their changing needs using agile methods to ensure adaptable and effective solutions.
- Evaluate prototypes and minimum viable products, offering iterative feedback to achieve solutions that exceed specifications and enhance final products.
- Support IT projects, advocating for best practices and continuous improvements, and overseeing system upgrades and new software implementations in line with organizational objectives.
System Analysis And Reporting
- Demonstrate proficiency in business intelligence tools like Power BI or Tableau, enabling the development of insightful reports and dashboards independently.
- Access and utilize current business systems, such as Procore and BuildOps, to develop comprehensive reports that highlight system performance and operational insights.
- Leverage this expertise to conduct thorough analyses of existing systems, pinpointing key areas ripe for enhancement.
- Methodically generate and assemble detailed reports, leveraging data to propose actionable solutions aimed at boosting productivity and operational efficiency.
Training And Support
- Collaborate to develop and deliver training programs for end-users, ensuring effective adoption and utilization of IT applications.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to users, enhancing their understanding and capabilities within various systems.
Quality Assurance And Testing
- Participate in the development and implementation of quality assurance processes.
- Ensure thorough testing of new applications and systems, maintaining high standards of reliability and performance.
Closely Collaborate With The Following Departments And Functions - Business Leaders in operations, support groups, office and field roles.
- IT Operations and Service Desk: To ensure system functionality meets business needs and compliance with our IT architecture, compliance, and cybersecurity standards and can be effectively supported by our service desk as applicable.
- Learning & Development: For the development and dissemination of training materials and programs.
- Systems Administrators and IT Applications Team: To align IT projects with organizational goals and ensure efficient execution.
- IT Vendors: Collaborate with vendors to optimize use of their services to deliver value for the company.
Experience And Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred; or 5+ years of experience in technical or process improvement roles.
- Demonstrated experience in business systems analysis, with a strong understanding of software applications and IT infrastructure.
- Certifications in business analysis, Lean Six Sigma, or relevant technical fields are advantageous.
- Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of software solutions.
- Preferred: Previous experience working in the construction industry or with construction software solutions, such as Autodesk, Trimble Viewpoint Spectrum, Salesforce, ERP, HCM, and project management platforms like Procore or BuildOps.
- Preferred: Technical proficiency with SQL, writing code, developing applications, building integrations, and .NET development.

Pay Transparency
The starting salary for this opportunity range is listed. Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility based on company and individual performance, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
