A foreman at A&R Construction is a team and crew leader. They are expected to run a project, direct crews, and communicate with both internal and external leadership. Our foremen lead from the ground and from the operator’s seat. They are knowledgeable in all the tools of our trade and are eager to help train new employees. Our foremen take safety seriously and strive to protect our crews from danger. They fill out paperwork, track and document our work, fill out Foreman Sheets and Daily Reports, collect timecards and operator vehicle inspection forms. Most of all they are the face of our company, making sure that our customers and clients receive the best quality work done in a timely manner.
Foreman’s Responsibilities
1. Conduct daily job hazard analysis to ensure safety of workers
2. Provide Leadership and supervision to field crews
3. Coordinate with Superintendents and project managers
4. Coordinate with GC/Owner Superintendents
5. Coordinate with other subcontractors onsite
6. Read plans and specifications
7. Direct Work Crews
8. Train new employees
9. Maintain Schedule
10. Inspect work performed and assure delivery of a quality product
11. Fill out daily work reports detailing the activities of the day
12. Conduct weekly safety meetings
Skills and Requirements
1. OSHA 30 Hour Certification
2. Trench Safety Competent Person
3. Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
4. Read Blueprints
5. Read Construction Survey and be able to layout work
6. Good Communicator
7. Team Leader
8. Pass Pre-Employment Drug Screening
9. Knowledge of Lasers and GPS Settings
