BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB: The Utility Helper will work with the machine operator and crew members during operations including set-up and running of machine. During the set-up the Utility Helper will be responsible for a portion of the set-up as directed by the operator. He/she will also be responsible for taking part in clean up and preventative maintenance.
- Martin Utility: Responsible for but not limited to activities such as monitoring ink, handling pallets, stacking waste sheets, reporting sheet waste, etc. Performance standards of this job include but are not limited to being able to safely and conformingly assist operation at or above 80% of rated machine speed and perform set-ups in less than 9 minutes.
- Corrugator Utility: Responsible for but not limited to activities such as preparation of incoming roll stock, performing quality testing housekeeping duties, clearing jams, stacking corrugated sheets, etc as directed. Performance standards of this job include but are not limited to being able to safely and conformingly operate the Double Backers position and Stackers duties at 100% of rated machine speed.
- Asitrade Utility: Responsible for periodic driving of clamp truck to deliver rolls to single face, mixing and monitoring starch; assisting Aerator and performing other duties on machine; tagging and performing quality checks.
- Diecutter Utility: Responsible for feeding or tailing off as directed by the operator. During PM he/she will perform cleaning, lubricating and inspection functions as directed by the operator.
SPECIAL EDUCATION SKILLS, TRAINING OR QUALIFICATIONS THAT ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS JOB: The successful bidder must be able to contribute to the overall performance of the machine levels reflected in performance guarantee. He/she must be able to read a tape measure, read & understand factory cards and CAD's, perform basic math functions related to multiplication and division and perform basic computer entries. He/she must be able to anticipate upcoming needs to insure uninterrupted production and set-ups. He/she must be able to perform designated/assigned functions related to set up time and run speeds. He/she must be capable of becoming proficient in flexography, die cutting skills, basic corrugator or asitrade operations skills as required by the machine specific utility position. Must be able to pass forklift and clamp licensing process if required by the machine specific position.
Must have the ability to speak, read and write English.
