Responsibilities
- Provide expert professional and technical oversight and guidance.
- Conduct comprehensive project research, logistics, and management.
- Review plats and prepare accurate legal descriptions in accordance with local, state, federal, and project requirements.
- Ensure adherence to the company's policies, safety plan, and project safety plan.
- Perform quality control checks on each project, including computations, field book formats, and content.
- Supervise project field crew(s) and/or serve as a field Professional Land Surveyor (PLS).
- Contribute to various survey types, including control, boundary, subdivision, heavy civil, topographic, and design surveys, as well as aerial mapping control.
- Competently operate and adjust survey measuring instruments, such as digital levels, GPS equipment, and total stations with electronic data collecting capabilities.
- Understand and identify basic sources of measurement errors.
- Conduct mathematical calculations and verify field data.
- Execute data reduction, field note reduction, calculations, data checks, and staking computations using survey programs and AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- PLS or LSIT registration certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of surveying and mapping experience is required.
- 3+ years of project management experience is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with effective written and oral communication abilities.
- Proficiency in right-of-way mapping and parcel plat drafting.
- Expertise in using total stations, GPS receivers and data collectors, and GPS reduction software.
- Experience in AutoCAD/Civil 3D with demonstrated survey drafting skills; excellent AutoCAD/Civil 3D skills are a plus.
- Microstation experience a plus.
- Experience with Trimble Business Center (TBC) a plus.
- Ability to read and understand survey drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Knowledge of principles of monumentation, staking, and marking.
- Familiarity with plan checking Parcel Maps/Tract Maps is a plus.
- Proficient with MS Word and Excel.
Certifications/Licenses:
- California PLS or LSIT License
- Current California driver’s license in good standing
The pay range for this California position is
$104,000 - $ 145,600 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
