Wood Rodgers, a leading engineering consulting firm based in California, is hiring a Senior Surveyor to join our Survey Department. This full-time role will manage survey projects and oversee project budgets. The successful candidate will be a professional land surveyor registered in the state of California with previous management and land surveying experience.
What you will be doing
- Perform and oversee survey projects including project scheduling, budgets and billing.
- Perform business development to secure additional survey projects.
- Supervise and positively motivate survey technicians and survey parties for quality project delivery.
- Plan and coordinate work of field survey parties performing boundary, topographic and design surveys and construction staking activities and staff preparing reports.
- Manage workload, staffing and quality control for all survey efforts.
- Develop and mentor staff.
- Project management, including management of budget, scope and schedule for small, moderate and large land survey projects
- Coordinate survey efforts with other groups in an integrated services environment.
Qualifications & Skills
- 10 plus years of experience in Land Surveying.
- Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related field.
- California Professional Land Surveyor license.
- Must be very knowledgeable in all aspects of Land Surveying, especially technical.
- Strong office computer skills (e.g. word, excel).
- Familiarity with local subdivision and zoning requirements.
- Proficient AutoCAD Civil 3D skills with styles, codes, feature lines and surfaces.
- Excellent Trimble Business Center skills with processing conventional and GPS data.
- Ability to direct and monitor construction layout services.
- Must be able to go to the field as needed and proficiently lead a crew or solve technical issues.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team and collaborate skills.
