Job Title: Facilities Electrical Engineer
Our Client have a requirement for a Facilities Electrical Engineer to initially assist with the procurement, installation, commissioning of various plant and equipment and to assist in getting ready for 24/7 operation.
Some of the smaller, incidental equipment required for the factory shall be procured within the UK / Europe and the Facilities Electrical Engineer will assist with this aspect including specification, design, selection of suppliers / contractors, factory testing etc. During this time, you will work closely with SME's and engineering colleagues from the overseas headquarters, as well as with our EPC contractor
After this period, the Facilities Electrical Engineer will form part of a Facilities Engineering team and will assist with all electrical engineering activities associated with operation, maintenance and modification of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities required for the plant.
This is a new manufacturing facility, therefore experience in electrical engineering associated with heavy industries is preferred.
This position will report to the Facilities Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the design procurement, factory testing and commissioning of equipment, machinery, and other facilities required for the new plant
- Assist with all electrical maintenance in the plant once operational. This will include both reactive and planned electrical maintenance;
- Assist with ensuring all electrical planned maintenance procedures are developed and approved prior to plant operation.
- Assist with ensuring the Asset Management System is developed ahead of operations
- Ensure all relevant KPI's are met
- Managing staff and sub-contractors hired directly by Client carrying out electrical works
- Assist with Plan, budget, and schedule facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, machine and other related costs focusing on mechanical This will require close working with other colleagues both on site and in headquarters.
- Ensure all HSE requirements are always met during all phases of the project, from construction through to modifications
- Assist with introducing and maintaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other related standards
- Collaborate with all members of the facility engineering department (electrical / mechanical) and the facility production department, as and when required
- Collaborate with SMEs in the Headquarters and external consultants to ensure that all facility-related works are carried out efficiently and effectively.
Requirements:
- Significant experience in electrical engineering associated with equipment in heavy industry, ideally heavy manufacturing industry
- Experience in electrical of major construction projects would be advantageous, but not absolutely necessary
- Engineering Degree Advantageous but not essential if required relevant experience is met
- Some experience using AutoCAD would be advantageous
- It would be advantageous if the candidate also has some PLC / Control system experience
Other Information:
- Initially this position will largely be based in the Inverness office, although some travelling (including overseas) will be required.
- This position will largely be based in Easter Ross once the main manufacturing equipment installation work starts.
- Mass production is scheduled to begin in Y2027
- Training opportunities will be provided to network with key players in the overseas mother plant to learn about manufacturing processes or vendors of machinery.
