Job Title: Sr. Automation Technician (DDC/BAS)

Summary
We seek a highly skilled Senior Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technician in San Jose, CA, for a full-time role. This position requires a local and stable work history and at least three years of hands-on experience with building automation and direct digital control (DDC) systems. The ideal candidate will specialize in the service, maintenance, and optimization of BAS and HVAC controls for commercial buildings, ensuring efficient and reliable building system operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair BAS systems, including HVAC controls, chillers, air handlers, and other critical building equipment.
- Program, commission, and integrate new and existing DDC systems, ensuring compatibility with protocols such as BACnet and other industry standards.
- Work with BAS platforms, including but not limited to Tridium Niagara, Distech, Alerton, ALC, Metasys, and Schneider Electric systems, to optimize system performance and integration.
- Collaborate with project teams to perform system retrofits, upgrades, and expansions, adhering to commercial building specifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system modifications, service records, and troubleshooting reports using tools like Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in BAS/DDC service, programming, and integration, focusing on commercial HVAC systems.
- Advanced knowledge of BAS platforms such as Tridium Niagara, ALC, Distech, Alerton, and related DDC protocols.
- Familiarity with HVAC system components, including chillers, boilers, variable air volume (VAV) systems, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Proficiency in using industry software like AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Trimble AutoBid.
- Proven ability to work efficiently with local commercial building codes and regional industry standards.
