Job Summary
Ichor Strategies is seeking to hire a Consultant to join our Engagement team to support community engagement, client deliverables, event management, and project management functions.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse stakeholders across social impact and/or corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Key areas of expertise include community engagement, project management, partnership development, relationship management, communications, and event planning. This role requires a keen understanding of social justice and community development issues (e.g., digital inclusion, education, health justice, housing, racial and gender equity, and/or workforce development). It also requires a deep knowledge of the Bay Area's socio-political history and current climate.
This full-time, remote position is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and reports to the Principal of Engagement. Expect a non-traditional workweek with occasional evening and/or weekend commitments, depending on client demands. Travel may be necessary as per business requirements. Job criteria may adapt to shifting business priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities
Client Management
- Works directly with the client’s contact(s) in the Western U.S. and senior staff to communicate evolving client and community needs.
- Offers valuable insight in client meetings with support from senior staff.
- Responds to client needs thoroughly, promptly, and accurately.
- Understands budgeting and billing issues related to managing contracts and event/travel expenses.
- Participates in the timely completion of regional on-the-ground updates, check-ins, and activity reports.
Community Engagement & Project Management
- Confidence in developing ties to grassroots, faith-based, nonprofits, and other community leaders along major metro centers in the West region.
- Subject matter expertise on the Bay Area's socio-political history and current climate.
- Comfortable reaching out to community leaders to set up meetings to gather insights on the needs of neighborhoods and communities.
- Comfortable moderating discussions between community leaders and clients on a wide variety of topics including technology, inequality, race, education, public safety, housing etc.
- Ability to manage and maintain strong relationships with community leaders and comfortable representing Ichor or client at events/forums.
- Existing ties with community leaders (faith-based, nonprofit, economic development, etc.) in communities in the Bay Area preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities for Client:
Volunteer Coordination
- Utilize nonprofit vetting portals to ensure compliance and credibility of partner organizations.
- Input volunteer opportunities into designated portals, fostering engagement and participation.
- Employ various channels, including monthly newsletters, volunteer champions, CSR newsletters, and slack channels/ERGs, to recruit employees from client companies for volunteering opportunities.
Community Events Coordination
- Coordinate logistics for community events in collaboration with nonprofit partners, ensuring seamless execution.
- Work closely with internal teams at client companies to coordinate event attendance at sponsored events.
- Identify and compile volunteer, thought leadership, and partnership opportunities within the community.
Onsite Event Management
- Ensure smooth event execution by serving as point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, and arranging necessary materials and resources, including tablecloths, collateral, and swag, as needed.
Metrics Gathering
- Maintain a tracking system to monitor metrics for community events and chamber engagements, requiring effective relationship management with relevant stakeholders to gather accurate data.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related area of study
- 4–8 years of full-time professional experience in a related role or field
- Established understanding and knowledge of the SF Bay Area
- Preference for bilingual English/Spanish speakers
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
