Hardware Test Engineer (DoD Secret Security Clearance Requirement)

Trimble, the leading provider of high-performance GPS navigation receivers for aviation, is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and quality of our receivers, embedded in critical inertial navigation subsystems across a wide range of aircraft. You will design, develop, and implement cost-effective qualification verification testing within our state-of-the-art GPS test labs. Your expertise will be vital throughout the product lifecycle, from initial concept to end-of-life, encompassing design validation, engineering changes, manufacturing problem resolution, quality assurance, and the management of outsourced testing requirements. What Skills & Experience You Should Bring
- Hands-on experience manipulating signal generators, signal simulators, and signal measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and digital voltmeters (DVM).
- Experience using the Python scripting language to manipulate test equipment, applications, data and receiver interaction. Experience with similar scripting languages to Python performing these tasks will be considered.
- Strong skills in data manipulation, screening, organization, and processing, using Excel. Experience with MATLAB is acceptable, but Excel proficiency is highly preferred.
- Background and knowledge of thorough documentation practices, accurate record keeping, and data management.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute comprehensive test plans for development products.
- Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and the ability to communicate findings effectively across diverse skillsets and with stakeholders is essential. You will be collaborating and working across disciplines such as mechanical engineering, radio frequency engineering, software engineering and more.

What You Will Do
- Prepare test and diagnostic programs, design test plans, procedures, fixtures and equipment.
- Develop test automation of procedures, scenarios, equipment, and data analysis. Perform formal periodic test reviews.
- Analyze system behavior under operating scenarios to improve test efficiency and product performance.
- Lead the design, development, integration, and release of test stations and techniques. Define, outline and perform the training and sustaining activity required to successfully manage test verification programs.
- Document methodology for test requirements, plans, procedures, and results.
- Develop, draft, release and maintain test procedures, and perform related Configuration Management activity. Ensure the quality and accuracy of released test documentation.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent from an accredited institution.
