Become a Survey Field & Research Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be responsible for planning, direction, and coordination for all aspects of work for the Survey Field & Research team and related staff. The Position requires thorough knowledge of terminology and procedures of Land Surveying and Civil Engineering. The Manager will be accountable for providing accurate reporting on projects, budgets, managing internal resources as well as multiple vendors.

Responsibilities
- Provides technical leadership in the functional specification, design, and implementation of new policies and enhancements to existing security center applications and tools. Designs designing technical solutions to complex problems for management and engineering concurrence to optimize operations
- Plans, organizes, and guides extensive technical programs and activities of outstanding novelty and importance
- Oversees the identifying and reporting of major pole loading errors, making corrections and ensuring pole load calculations are sent through the proper workflow processes
- Establishes and maintains procedures and guidelines related to day-to-day operational support provided to operations and business unit personnel
- Oversees the analysis of vendor performance relative to the contract and industry standards, ensuring that assets and contracted service providers remain compliant with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Manages all formatting and publishing of new and existing standards using electronic desktop publishing
- Manages all asset programs for equipment and systems, focusing on cost management, reliability, compliance, and delivering expert support
- Oversees the analysis and identification of the root cause of complex application deficiencies and system issues and implements comprehensive technical solutions to resolve those issues
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five or more years of combined experience performing or supervising technical evaluations of events to determine root cause and recommending corrective action.
- Experience with project development & implementation.
- Utility experience.
- Posses a valid Class C Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered California Professional Land Surveyor.
- Bachelor's degree in surveying, Geomatics or related Engineering field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with high precision vertical and horizontal control networks, laser scanning data processing (LiDAR) and geographic information systems.
- Proficient with Trimble TBC, and COGO capabilities.
- Experience with construction surveys, geodetic surveys, ALTA Land Title Surveys, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, stakeout procedures and practices.
- Ability to do quality control checks of submitted information from survey crews and office staff to ensure all required information is included and complete and properly archived.
- Ability to develop/revise and enforce Land Survey standards and procedures.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
