FIELD SURVEYOR WITH DRONE EXPERIENCE

Ozone is looking for a Field Surveyor with Drone Experience and enthusiasm to join our team! This role involves conducting on-site drone-based surveys, collecting high-quality aerial data, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of drone technology and field survey techniques.
Responsibilities:
· Operate drones for field surveys, capturing high-resolution images, videos, and other data.
· Plan and execute flight paths using drone software to ensure complete and accurate data collection.
· Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections to ensure equipment functionality and safety.
· Process and analyze aerial data to produce detailed maps, models, and reports.
· Adhere to strict protocols, including pre-flight checklists and emergency procedures.
· Maintain and troubleshoot drones and related equipment to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
· Keep accurate records of flight activities, maintenance, and any incidents or accidents.
· Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including FAA guidelines and company policies.
· Collaborate with clients and team members to understand project requirements and deliverables.
· Monitor emerging Drone and LiDAR technologies to continuously improve drone and survey operations
· Stay updated on industry best practices to ensure safe and efficient operations.
· Collect survey data using Trimble GNSS receivers, scanners, total stations, levels, and survey controllers.
· Perform field survey tasks such as locating monuments, improvements, utilities, etc. for varying projects such as ALTA’s, boundary surveys, construction staking, and topographic surveys
- Measure and record precise distances and angles on, above or below the land surface, including boundary points, topographical features and other designated markers.
- Setting monuments and project horizontal/vertical control.
· Produce clear and concise field notes and quality field data for office processing.
- Provide insight and suggestions for correct equipment and proper software to perform tasks
· Work without immediate supervision and make technical and procedural decisions for projects assigned within specified limits of authority.
· Travel to various field locations as required for project execution.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Valid FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (or equivalent certification).
· Thorough understanding of and adherence to local, state, and federal regulations regarding drone operations, including airspace restrictions, flight restrictions, and privacy laws.
· 3yr + Experience in operating commercial drones and using flight planning software.
· Knowledge of drone software and data processing tools (e.g., Pix4D, LP360, DJI Terra, Trimble Business Center).
· Strong understanding of aerial surveying techniques, photogrammetry, and LiDAR.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to identify and troubleshoot technical issues during drone operations.
· Strong attention to detail for accurate data collection and flight path planning.
· Effective communication skills to collaborate with project managers, clients, and team members during pre-flight planning and execution.
· Experience with Trimble GPS and Total Station
· Experience setting horizontal and vertical control
· Experience performing Topographic Surveys, Boundary Surveys, and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
· Demonstrated mathematical and analytical skills along with the ability to learn new technologies
- Self-motivated with good time management and ability to work with clients and staff
· Willingness to work remotely, without physically reporting to the office each day and able to work independently
· Flexible with changing schedules and workload demands
· Willing to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
Preferred but not Necessary:
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in surveying, civil engineering, or related field
· Experience with computer drafting programs such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit
