Job Description
Crown is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
AutoCAD Drafter to play a crucial role in our FAA Airport Cable Loop (ACL) Program. This position requires a unique blend of traditional CAD drafting skills
with a strong understanding of geospatial data integration. The successful candidate will work closely
with our field survey team to translate raw GPS data into precise AutoCAD drawings and KML files for
critical airport infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process GPS coordinate data (typically from Trimble TerraFlex) provided by the field survey team for airport manholes.
- Develop or refine airport base maps within AutoCAD, potentially utilizing Google Maps imagery or existing airport layouts as a reference.
- Accurately plot GPS coordinates of each manhole onto the airport base map, ensuring correct georeferencing and coordinate system alignment.
- Create detailed individual AutoCAD drawings for each manhole, illustrating: The four interior walls of the manhole.
- Existing and proposed cable routing within the manhole.
- Any other relevant structural or utility details provided by the survey team.
- Generate KML files from the AutoCAD drawings, ensuring accurate spatial representation an inclusion of relevant manhole data for viewing in Google Earth/Maps.
- Collaborate effectively with the survey team to clarify data points and ensure drawing accuracy.
- Maintain organized drawing files and adhere to project-specific CAD standards and FAA requirements.
- Perform quality control checks on all drawings and KML files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
