Job Overview:
The BIM Technician will be an integral part of our dynamic team, utilizing your expertise to facilitate the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in our electrical projects. Your responsibilities will include creating detailed and accurate BIM models, collaborating with design and engineering teams, and ensuring that project specifications align with industry standards
Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks:
- Complete drawings based on mark-ups by others
- Basic layout and modeling of some systems
- Work under direction of Senior BIM Technician, design professional, and VDC/BIM manager
- Ensure construction document accuracy based on BIM modeling discipline
- Ability to do some basic Quality Control of drawings with team
- Follow BIM content standards and development procedures
- Ability to export DWF and other formats for collaboration by others
- Prepare own discipline model and or content for BIM coordination meetings
- Work within established department, utilizing established standards and support software
- Accept and apply department standards and quality
- Assist and work with other department members
- Adhere to BIM execution plan and workflow criteria
- Complete weekly time sheets
- Produce construction drawings based on modeling and detailing
- Complete 3D As-built plans from field mark-ups
- Collaborate and coordinate with other disciplines design-changes and model challenges
- Able to take direction on some discipline specific BIM modeling content for a project
- Place Trimble points as directed

Compensation:
Rex Moore pays hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employee’s knowledge, experience and skill level.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Possess good communication, writing and organizational skills
- Typing skills of at least 20 wpm for completion of forms
- 2 years of experience as a CAD Technician
- 2 years of electrical field experience preferred
- Proficient in most recent release of:
- Revit
- Navisworks
- Blue Beam
- AutoCAD MEP
- Autodesk Build
- Revizto
- Trimble
- BIM 360
- Autodesk Construction Cloud
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office products
- Preferred Auto desk certifications in Revit
- Knowledge of electrical drafting symbols
- Knowledge of electrical and general construction
- Working knowledge of electrical systems
- Understanding of architectural and structural MEP drawings/documents
- Ability to layout systems within a model while evaluating installation methods and clashes
- Typing skills of 40 wpm for completion of forms
- Possess good communication, writing and organizational skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to verbally communicate: convey detailed and accurate instructions and information.
- Ability to hear with or without correction in order to receive and interpret detailed information.
- Required to sit at a desk work station for long periods of time.
- Push, pull, lift, and carry at least 10 pounds.
- Frequently required to walk and stand. This position may involve infrequent site visits which will require the ability to walk on uneven surfaces, climb stairs and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Required to have visual acuity with or without correction in order to read contract documents, analyze data, view a computer monitor, and proof-read documents to identify errors.
- Required to use fingers and hands: type using a computer keyboard, handle, feel, and reach.
- May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, and crouch.
