We’re a commercial insurance brokerage seeking a reliable and knowledgeable Loss Control Consultant with a strong construction background and in-depth knowledge of all current Cal/OSHA guidelines and laws as they pertain to the construction industry. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the field, enjoys working directly with crews, and is passionate about creating safer job sites.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site job inspections at active construction sites to identify hazards and evaluate safety practices
- Assist clients with drafting and updating written safety programs (e.g., IIPP, hazard-specific programs)
- Provide in-person safety training for construction crews and management
- Build rapport with employees and provide actionable, construction-specific feedback to foster a culture of safety and compliance
- Deliver detailed written reports outlining findings, corrective actions, and recommendations
- Collaborate with our internal team to ensure clients remain compliant with carrier and regulatory requirements
Ideal Candidate:
- Strong background in construction safety, OSHA compliance, and loss control
- Deep understanding of current Cal/OSHA construction safety standards and regulations
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
- Ability to connect with employees at all levels and deliver effective, practical safety guidance
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
- Must have reliable transportation (field work required)
