Job Title: Construction Superintendent
Location: Southern CA – LA, the Valley, OC, San Diego
Salary: $75,000 - $105,000 (based on experience)
Job Overview:
Delta is a commercial GC seeking a reliable, experienced, and highly motivated Superintendent to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a MINIMUM of 5 years as a Lead Superintendent, demonstrating the ability to lead teams, ensure project timelines and uphold the highest standards of safety and quality.
The Superintendent will work closely with the Project Manager, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the client's specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring timely completion within scope, quality, and budget parameters.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and direct field crews, subcontractors, and other construction personnel to ensure proper work procedures and quality standards.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing all safety regulations, conducting regular safety meetings, and reporting any hazards or incidents.
- Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time. Identify and address potential delays proactively.
- Quality Control: Perform inspections to ensure work complies with specifications, codes, and quality standards. Approve work completed by subcontractors and vendors.
- Problem Solving: Address on-site challenges and provide solutions to obstacles, managing conflicts or delays efficiently and professionally.
- Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for the project manager, subcontractors, vendors, and crew members. Provide regular updates on project progress, potential issues, and resolutions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate project records, including daily logs, schedules, safety reports, and site photos.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Lead Superintendent in commercial construction, with a strong track record of successfully completed projects.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial construction processes, project management, and safety protocols.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and permits.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with construction management software and tools.
- OSHA certification or equivalent (preferred).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Authorized to work in the United States - must be able to provide legal paperwork at hiring
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of building codes, permits, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience managing large-scale commercial projects (e.g., office buildings, retail spaces, banks).
