Job Summary
The Mechanic provides light to heavy-duty truck maintenance and repair under the direct supervision of the Shop Manager. This role includes diagnosing, servicing, and performing DOT-compliant repairs while ensuring safety and quality. As skills, training, and certifications grow, advancement opportunities to higher mechanic levels are available.

Essential Functions

Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, HVAC, and electrical systems (gas & diesel).
Perform breakdown, malfunction, and roadside repairs safely and efficiently.
Conduct operational tests before and after repairs to confirm work quality.
Maintain accurate repair records, mileage, and hours.
Keep equipment in safe working condition.

Qualifications

Knowledge of engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and electrical systems (12V/24V).
Familiarity with Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Allison transmissions, Case, and Komatsu equipment.
Prior construction knowledge/experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 100 lbs.
Work may include welding, handling materials, and general shop labor.
