Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Fire Watch professional to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for monitoring designated areas to prevent and respond to potential fire hazards during construction, maintenance, or other high-risk activities. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of personnel and property by maintaining vigilance and adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Previous Fire Watch training & experience.
- Present during all "hot work" activities.
- Present on site for 60 minutes after "hot work" activity completion.
- Re-check work areas every 30 minutes for 3 hours following "hot work" activity completion.
- Provide special attention and care when work is near/at common walls.
Duties:
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to identify and mitigate fire hazards.
- Monitor hot work operations, such as welding or cutting, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain clear communication with team members and emergency services as needed.
- Document observations and incidents accurately in daily logs.
- Implement emergency response procedures in the event of a fire or other emergencies.
- Provide guidance and support to workers regarding fire safety practices.
- Ensure that firefighting equipment is readily available and operational.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge of fire prevention strategies.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of fire safety regulations and practices.
- Excellent observational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in emergencies.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with team members and emergency services.
- Familiarity with firefighting equipment and emergency response protocols.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative spirit within the team.
