Pacific Southwest Structures, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and motivated Structural Concrete Project Engineer who is up for the challenge to Build the Extraordinary here in San Diego. This role is perfect for someone who is eager to be challenged and take the lead in building some of the most complex and marquee concrete projects in the region that include airports, stadiums, high-rises, higher education, renewable energy, and private commercial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Project Managers and Project Superintendents in the day-to-day needs of assigned projects, including document control, cost tracking, scheduling, subcontractor management, and coordination with General Contractors.
- Project Schedule: Ensure project schedules are effectively executed, and deadlines are met.
- Prepare Submittals: Responsible for gathering, preparing, or acquiring necessary submittals and submitting them as required.
- Generating RFIs (Request for Information): Generating RFIs as necessary to clarify project specifications and requirements.
- Extra Work Tickets: Ensure that all extra work tickets are complete, appropriately signed, and tracked.
- Assist in the Change Management Process:
- Identify potential changes and notify Project Managers.
- Package Change Order Requests for Project Managers.
- Track Change Order Requests through the COR/PCO log.
- Cost Control: Weekly production planning and review of project costs.
- Procure Materials: Work alongside superintendents and foremen to procure materials, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of contract requirements, purchase orders, necessary quantities, and on-site needs, and understand the Invoice Review and Approval process.
- Progress Documentation (Pictures): Document project progress through photographs for record-keeping.
- File and Maintain Inspection and Testing Records: Organize, file, and maintain records of inspections and testing for compliance and reference.
- As-Built Drawings: Create and manage accurate as-built drawings for project documentation.
- Close out: Track close-out requirements and punch list to ensure completed in a timely manner.
- A commitment to safety: Ensure projects follow PSSI and project safety policies.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction Management.
- Technical Skills:
- Basic knowledge of Cast-in-Place Concrete Construction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, and learn Timberline PM Software, Timberline Estimating, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam Revu, Procore, Autodesk Build, Autodesk AutoCAD, and BIM software.
