Position Overview
We are seeking a Survey Technician with a strong foundation in topographic surveying to support both field and office operations. This role will specialize in LiDAR data processing and extraction, with opportunities for training and growth in advanced LiDAR workflows.
This position may report to any of our offices in Southern California, Portland (OR), Seattle (WA), or Booneville (AR), with remote work options available. Candidates must currently reside within the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Support field and office workflows for topographic surveys
- Process and draft survey data for public works projects
- Perform LiDAR extraction and feature coding from point cloud data
- Work with data collected via mobile, UAS (drone), and terrestrial scanning systems
- Prepare deliverables in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation OpenRoads
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to survey standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in land surveying (field and/or office required)
- 5+ years of experience preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation OpenRoads (minimum 2 years required)
- Experience with topographic survey workflows
- Strong understanding of survey data, mapping principles, and deliverables
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred / Bonus Skills
- Experience with LiDAR extraction or point cloud processing
- Familiarity with TopoDOT or similar LiDAR software
- Experience with RIEGL point cloud processing or cloud registration
- Background in public works or infrastructure projects
- Experience with Topographic Surveys - Field and Office
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Pay: $30 – $45/hour (depending on experience)
